With the onset of an increasingly aging population in Singapore, the Silver Industry Standards Committee, under the auspices of SPRING Singapore, brought together a team of specialist consultants to develop a comprehensive Wayfinding and Signage Guide.
Aimed at improving wayfinding experiences of public space users, the Singapore Standard Guide for Wayfinding Signage in Public Areas focuses on generic guidelines encompassing common public environments with general considerations of the needs of the elderly.
Acacia Design Consultants are proud to be part of the core team of consultants responsible for developing of what will become the definitive guide for all wayfinding and signage consultants and contractors alike.
The guide states the principles to good wayfinding, consisting detailed information on placement, pictograms, typology; from best practices within the industry, to incorrect usage. It forms a part of the National Standardisation Programme which aims to help companies meet international standards and conformity requirements.
The guide will officially be launched on the 23rd of january 2015 at SPRING Singapore.
